What are your speculations on Godzilla 2016's size and mass?

I was inspired to do this topic because I read that the new Colossal Titan is 120 meters tall now, according to this website. To those who watch the anime or read the manga, the Colossal Titan was just 60 meters tall. Now, he's roughly 2 times taller than his original height. (Godzilla would still make short work of him, though.)

I don't think Toho would just accept that another Japanese kaiju will be bigger than the original. Well, I think they'll be fine with it.. But anyways! So do you think they'll make Godzilla even bigger? Or just 120 meters, to match the CT? Or maybe just slightly taller than LegendaryGoji? Try to estimate a weight that will fit your speculated height. Discuss!

(I for one thinks he'll be around 150 meters, big as Bagan. My friend thinks bigger; she wants Godzilla to be 1000 feet tall, or roughly 300 meters!!)

I didn't know Higuchi had increased the height of the Titan to 120 meters. He may just be into much larger scales these days.

Yeah, I didn't know too until just recently. Higuchi(Or was it Anno?) did say that the new Godzilla will be a nightmare. So, 150 meters and 150,000 tons is my speculation, if you want a truly monstrous Godzilla. But 300 meters is too much, don't you agree? (My friend is trying her best to convince me otherwise. 1000 feet is too much!)

I think 100 meters is too much for Godzilla, personally. I'd rather them not go as high as 150. 120 I could at least deal with.

From what I gather it seems like toho wants to make a bigger badder Godzilla than what Legendary did. I'd be surprised if this Godzilla ended up being noticably smaller than G2014.

I imagine he'll be anywhere from 120 to 150 meters, but no bigger. (I would find it hilarious if he was just 109 meters tall). As for mass, I'd say somewhere around 100,000 tons.

I think I remember reading that they wanted the 2016 Godzilla to be the biggest one yet. And especially if they want to compete with the Legendary one. As for the size change of the Colossal Titan, Godzilla had the same scale up. From the original 50 meters to the heisei 100 meters, to the Legendary 108 meters, it's roughly the same change.

ARMAGEDDON - This is a very thought-provoking topic! Hmm...In all honesty, I would like for the 2016 iteration of Godzilla to be around the same size as the original or those from the Showa era. While utterly massive, Godzilla was not ridiculously oversized in those films - and still made a large impact! :)

While I agree with something real, the original 50's, 60's, and 70's Godzilla films had much more traditional tokusatsu special effects, even though Godzilla was not bigger than 50 meters in those films, it still made for much more detailed miniature sets. Eiji Tsuburaya was the special effects master for his time and the special effects were much more impressive.

Although, I would love to see Godzilla reach 120 meters for the first time ever. Shinji Higuchi who worked on the Gamera trilogy delivered outstanding tokusatsu special effects. He likes to film at different angles with the effects he goes for. Seeing how detailed everything was in those 3 films, I'm pretty sure he won't disappoint us. Godzilla was scheduled to be 120 meters in Godzilla vs. Destroyah, however, Tomoyuki Tanaka decided not to go with that plan and Koichi Kawakita could not give the angels for that particular size. King Ghidorah alone took up a big proportion of the film he was in, and with Godzilla scheduled to be that tall, destroyah was scheduled to be 140 meters.

In all honesty, if Shinji Higuchi loves using bigger scales, it is highly possible we could see a Godzilla at 120 meters for this new film. Right now it all depends on what direction they are going.

Well they did say He would be Bigger than his Legendary incarnation, so maybe somewhere between 110-120 meters. And it doesn't matter what size the Colossal Titan is, Godzilla can, could, would and will kick his skinless ass. He's the King of the Monsters, enough said.

I'd be happy with 120-145 meters tall. About 120,000 ish in weight. I want him to be long, like really long, around 350-400meters long.

I kinda want a Godzilla that goes back to the smaller size of showa and millennium it allows more detail to the sets and miniatures.
